A coal mine on Tuesday collapsed in western Turkey, trapping at least 18 workers, according to Turkish local reports.
The accident took place in the town of Ermenek, in Karaman province and caused a cave-in, Karaman Governor Murat Koca was quoted by Turkey's Ikhlas news agency as saying.
There were 26 workers in the mine when the collapse happened, he said, adding that eight miners could escape while 16 others were still trapped.
Rescuers have rushed to the site, he pointed out.
