A magnitude-6.7 earthquake struck under the ocean near
Papua New Guinea Sunday, reports said, according to dpa.
The quake was more than 100 kilometres off the coast of Bougainville Island, with aftershocks registering 5.2 and 5.0, according to Geoscience Australia.
Senior seismologist Mark Leonard told national broadcaster ABC little damage was expected as the island is sparsely populated and any tsunami would be about half a metre.
