A 5.8-magnitude earthquake jolted last night the coast of US state of Alaska close to  Anchorage city. There has been no report of casualties or damage. The epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 33.1 miles about (53 km) and was widely felt in Anchorage, the US Geological Survey reported. Quakes of similar strength are fairly common in Alaska, one of the most seismically active parts of the United States.
