Several earthquakes hit the Campania region southern Italy today, causing panic among the population. According to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Italy, the biggest tremor measured 4.1 degrees on the Richter scale, at a depth of 11.4 km." Two other tremors measuring 3.5 degrees and 2.5 degrees have been recorded, a statement by the Institute added. Italy's Department of Civil Defense indicated no damages or injuries were reported as a result of the earthquakes.
