Cairo - MENA
Egypt and the US agreed to carry out joint research in the water field at a cost of EGP 200 million or nearly $30 million.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi and a visiting delegation of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Thursday.
A maximum of half a million dollars will be spent on each study to encourage young researchers on teamwork, Moghazi said.
The research subjects will cover underground water, water desalination, wastewater reuse, energy and food security, he said.
