Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazi left here Monday for Juba on a four-day visit to South Sudan.
During the visit, Moghazi will inaugurate and visit a number of water and developmental projects in South Sudan.
Moghazi is accompanied by a 23-expert delegation representing ministries of irrigation, agriculture, electricity, health, education and youth accompanies Moghazi during the visit.
In statements to MENA, Moghazi said that the delegation will inaugurate an Egyptian-South Sundanese technical committee.
Also, he said that the delegation will visit water pumping stations in the villages deprived from the drinking water.
A workshop will be held for the experts and technicians of irrigation in both countries, Moghazi said.
Egypt called on the donating bodies to finance the construction of a hydropower dam at Wau, 509 kilometers (316 miles) northwest of the capital Juba, which will be used to store the irrigation water of up to 2.200 billion cubic meters, he asserted.
A new water well will be inaugurated and an integrated farm system will be donated by Egypt to Bahr Al Ghazal province in Juba during the Egyptian delegation's visit, he said.
