Snow storm in Washington

Federal offices in the Washington area will be closed on Tuesday because of severe winter weather, according to an announcement from the Office of Personnel Management.
Emergency personnel and employees who are scheduled for telework on Tuesday will not have the day off, but teleworkers can request leave. Agencies will automatically grant administrative leave to non-emergency employees.
The decision to close federal offices came Monday night, as steady snow blanketed the region and forecasters were projecting low temperatures and additional accumulation through 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
