The Moksha River in Russia\'s Ryazan district has burst its banks, affecting almost 1,200 people, officials said Saturday. More than 500 homes were flooded in the 803-year-old village of Kadom, RIA-Novosti reported. The flood was caused by snow melt. Ryazan is in the center of the Russia plain southeast of Moscow. Hundreds of towns and villages in central and southern Russia have been affected by flooding recently, and officials predicted 4,700 more may face flooding in the next few weeks.
