Forest Fires Destroy More than 130,000 Hectares in Chile

National Forestry Corporation of Chile announced that forest fires destroyed about 130 thousand hectares of forest and grassland in the country.
Chile's Interior Minister Mario Fernandez of parliament said that it is unlikely to be arson cause of the outbreak of the fire.
The raging fires in central and southern Chile, including the port city of Valparaiso and the capital, Santiago, as well as regions O'Higgins, El Maule, Biobio, La Araucania and Los Lagos had been struck by the fires, according to the country's National Forest Corporation, where eventually hundreds were battled and controlled.
Mexico, Canada, France, and Brazil offered the authorities in Chile to assist in putting out those fires.
