Firefighters on Saturday put out a huge fire that erupted in four houses in a village in Assiut, gutting all their contents and killing some livestock.

The fire started in a house in el Etmaniya village when an amount of straws caught fire from a home furnace. The blaze extended to three other houses, according to a report received by Assiut security chief.

Civil defense forces, fire trucks and ambulances rushed to the scene and the blaze was controlled.
