Kuwaiti citizens have planted a tree in front of a psychiatry center in Ain Taya, 25 kilometers east of the capital, as a symbol of solidarity between Kuwaitis of special mental challenges and their peers in Algeria.
Jassem Al-Bader, the head of the Kuwaiti "journey of hope," said in remarks to KUNA the tree was planted as a gesture of compassion and friendship to the Algerian brothers. He lauded the center which cares for 320 persons of mental challenges and train some on handicrafts.
The Kuwaiti delegation, including crew of the "journey of hope," the Kuwaiti Ambassador Faisal Al-Deweesh, toured carpentry, tailoring and handicraft workshops at the center.
Al-Aishi Mohammad, the head of the center, welcomed the Kuwaiti delegation and expressed readiness to cooperate with Kuwaiti societies. He also praised "the journey of hope," as a significant humanitarian gesture, worth to be lauded.
