Beijing - XINHUA
China’s capital has seen less rainfall than expected, after the Meteorological Bureau’s earlier forecast of heavy downpours. Officials have implemented flood prevention plans after weather bureaus reported ’radar echo figures’ indicating fresh rainfall. Experts from Flood Prevention and Meteorological Departments have held meetings every day since Beijing entered its flood season in June. An early-warning mechanism has been put in place so city residents can receive weather warnings by TV news, radio, internet and other means.
