A magnitude 6.3 earthquake jolted Japan's sea off Sanriku at around 7:22 a.m. local time, said Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). The epicenter was initially measured at 39.8 north latitude, 143.4 east longitude, with a depth of 10 km, according to JMA. No tsunami alert was issued. No damage has been reported so far.
