An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale rocked Malimono in the southern Philippine province of Surigao del Norte at 1:30 p.m. local time on Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said. The epicenter of the quake was placed at 15 km southwest of Malimono town, with a depth of 19 km. No casualties and losses have been reported so far.
