An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale was today reported off northern California, in the United States of America. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake which happened last night caused a light tremor but no major damages or casualties were reported. In a statement, the centre said that the quake was centered at 420 kilometres to the northwest of San Francisco.
