People wait in high areas after hearing a tsunami alert

A major earthquake struck off the coast of Guam on Wednesday, though there were no reports of damage and a tsunami warning was not in effect, AP reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the magnitude-6.7 quake was about 30 miles north-northwest of Guam and 80 miles deep.
The Pacific Daily News reports that power outages have been reported from Talofofo to Malojloj and to Bear Rock in Inarajan.
Some residents with Docomo Pacific reported losing phone service after the quake.
