A mild earthquake Saturday hit the eastern Indian state of Orissa, according to local media reports. However, there was no report of casualties or damage to properties because of the quake which measured 3.7 on the Richter scale and shook parts of Orissa at 08:00 a.m. local time. The epicenter of the tremor was located at latitude 21.4 degree north and longitude 85.8 east in Keonjhar district. A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the northeast Indian state of Sikkim in September, killing over 100 people and causing widespread damages.
