A shallow 3.3-magnitude earthquake was reported Friday night near Soledad, Calif., the U.S. Geological Survey says. USGS said the quake hit 13 miles from Soledad at a depth of five miles. The epicenter was 24 miles from Salinas, Calif., 19 miles from Greenfield and Hollister, Calif., and 137 miles from Sacramento, the state capital. No damage or injuries were reported.
