A 3.3-magnitude earthquake was reported Friday near the town of Turk in northwestern Iran, officials said. There were no reports of damage or injuries, the Fars News Agency reported. The mild quake struck at 10:37 a.m. local time at 47.9 degrees longitude and 37.4 degrees latitude, the Seismological Center of East Azarbaijan province,said. The center is affiliated with the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, Iran sits along several major fault lines and is prone to frequent earthquakes.
