A 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck US Maine about 20 miles west of Portland tonight and was felt as far south as Boston, according to the US Geological Survey. The center is roughly three miles west of Hollis Center, Maine. The USGS report the quake to be shallow at 3.1 miles in depth. Vermont and New Hampshire report shaking for an extended period of time. This area was affected by a similar earthquake last Wednesday when a magnitude 3.9 quake was centered in Quebec. Maine is the only state on the East coast that ranks in the Top 20th earthquake states, according to ABC2 News. There are no reports of injury or damage.
