A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale struck the Timor Region at 2.06 am Tuesday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department said.The quake’s epicentre was 263km northeast of Kupang, Indonesia, and 1,526km southeast of Sarikei, Sarawak.It did not pose any tsunami threat, the department said in a statement.
