An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted near the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 19:09 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 36.70 km, was initially determined to be at 39.8082 degrees north latitude and 142.0836 degrees east longitude.
