An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 1111 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 17.00 km, was initially determined to be at 38.2164 degrees north latitude and 144.3082 degrees east longitude.
