A 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit the town of Cauayan in the central Philippine province of Negros Occidental at 1:21 p.m. on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said, adding no casualties or damages to infrastructure have been reported. The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake was 5.6 on the Richter scale, and the epicenter, with a depth of 46.40 km, was initially determined to be at 9.9914 degrees north latitude and 122.4305 degrees east longitude.
