Strong quake strikes off eastern Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 5.4 Richter scale jolted East Nusa Tenggara province of Indonesia on Monday, the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency reported here.
The quake hit at 16:15 p.m. Jakarta time (0915 GMT) with epicenter at 110 km northeast Lembata of the province and with the depth at 563 km, the agency said.
Indonesia is prone to quake as it lies on a vulnerable quake- hit zone called "the Pacific Ring of Fire."
