A search for the last three missing mountaineers missing on Mount Everest since Friday's avalanche has been called off and is not likely to resume. The avalanche swept away 24 people, eight of whom were rescued alive and 12 whose dead bodies were recovered Friday. A 13th body was recovered Saturday, leaving three unaccounted for. The search for the three ethnic Sherpas was called off Sunday due to worsening weather conditions. Nepalese officials said the search is unlikely to resume. The avalanche trapped nearly 100 Sherpas above the disaster site, above base camp but just below Camp 2. Officials said it could take days before they are rescued.
