The River Nile water level hit its highest figure since 1988 on Monday night at Al Diyum station in Khartoum, the Sudanese Water Resources Ministry announced.
The water level at the station hit 13.1 meters against 12.81 meters in 1988, the ministry said in a statement published by “Al Sudani” newspaper out Tuesday.
It warned citizens on both sides of the Nile banks to keep cautious until the end of August.
