The second phase of an EU-funded project to develop the capabilities of the Jordan Nuclear Regulatory Commission (JNRC) was launched on Wednesday. The 1.2 million euro phase, implemented through the European RISKAUDIT group, will enhance the commission’s work in monitoring radiation, said JNRC President Jamal Sharaf. In the second phase, the commission’s strategic plan will be modernised, while a plan to train JNRC cadres will be developed, Sharaf highlighted, noting that the commission had managed in the first phase to draw up a preliminary draft for nuclear safety and review sector regulations.
