Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is organising a three-day international show, Blaze, starting from August 18 at the Doha Exhibition Center as part of the Qatar Summer Festival 2014.
The non-ticketed performance will go on for three consecutive days – August 18, 19 and 20th, at three different timings; at 5pm, 7pm and 9pm daily with each show lasting 20 minutes, QTA said.
Eid In Qatar & Qatar Summer Festival Project Manager Mashal Shahbik said, "Blaze is a highly energetic show that we expect will draw in many observers as it suitable for people of all ages and is extremely young-spirited and fun." Choreographer Anthony Van Laast directs the UK-based show. His work has appeared on Broadway in the popular musicals Sister Act and Mamma Mia! The group has performed with artists such as Michael Jackson and has sold more than 250,000 tickets in worldwide tours around Europe and Asia.
QTA is offering a free shuttle bus service throughout the summer festival from the Q-Post offices parking to the Family Fun activities in the DEC and Fountain Fun activity on the Corniche at Murjan restaurant.
The bus departs from the Q-Post office and passes by the two stations in one consecutive route. The bus will be available on an hourly basis during the week starting from 3pm until 10pm. As for weekend, the bus will be available starting from 2pm, until 11pm.
As part of the Qatar Summer Festival 2014, QTA has converted DEC into an indoor 10,000sqm entertainment city featuring activities and programs that cater to all ages; from extreme sports for adults, to soft play areas for kids.
The DEC is split up into zones, with dedicated games areas – ranging from professional skateboarding ramps to bouncy castles, a food court area, and a retail area. There is also a stage for Baraem TV for plays and performances.
Baraem TV will be putting on a 45 minute theatrical play encouraging and educating children about social values, cooperation and goodwill, every weekend. The show will be on at 4:30pm and 8:15pm every Friday and Saturday from the 8th of August until the 27th of September.
The DEC entertainment city will be open from 3pm to 11pm on weekdays, and from 2pm to midnight on weekends. Although the entry is free, activities are priced between 5 QAR to 30 QAR. Payment is only accepted through cash.
At the Corniche, which is the first venue that the shuttle bus stops at, there are daily dancing fountain shows on until the end of the festival. During the week, the fountain show is running from 7pm to 11pm at 30-minute intervals, and on the weekends, the show is on from 6pm to 12pm at 45-minute intervals, QTA said.
