HE the Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of Qatar Petroleum Dr. Mohammad bin Saleh al-Sada opened Saturday the 6th edition of the annual \"QP Environment Fair\" at the Doha Exhibition Center. Eight QP directorates and departments as well as 25 companies and organizations are set to showcase their environmental initiatives at the three-day event. In remarks to journalists, HE the Energy and Industry Minister said that the fair is developing each year as participants representing 34 sectors, the majority of them are from the oil and gas, are taking part in this year edition. HE al-Sada noted that the focus this time will be on the new generation of children. 45 schools will visit the exhibition, which will also open to the public. The fair aims to highlight that the development witnessed by Qatar in all fields should be a supportive factor for the environment, HE al-Sada added. The participating QP directorates and departments are the Corporate Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department, Dukhan Operations, Gas Operations, the HSE Regulations & Enforcement Directorate, Mesaieed Industrial City, Offshore Operations, QP Refinery and Ras Laffan Industrial City. A large number of QP subsidiaries and joint ventures will also be taking part in the event. These include Dolphin Energy Limited, Oryx GTL, Qatar Aluminium (Qatalum), Qatar Chemical Company Limited (Q-Chem), Qatar Electricity & Water Company (QEWC), Qatar Fertilizer Company (Qafco), Qatar Fuel (Woqod), Qatar Fuel Additives Company Ltd. (Qafac), Qatar Petrochemical Company Ltd. (Qapco), Qatar Petroleum International (QPI), Qatargas Operating Company Ltd (Qatargas), RasGas Company Limited (RasGas), and SEEF Limited. In addition, the QP Environment Fair 2012 will also feature the exhibition stands of many industry stakeholders, such as ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil Qatar Inc., Maersk Oil Qatar AS, Occidental Petroleum (OXY), Qatar Petroleum Development Company Ltd. (QPD) and Qatar Shell. QP Environment Fair was first launched in 2004.
