China's national observatory on Monday maintained a rainstorm alert as rain will continue to batter the country's southern provinces. Some regions in Guangdong, Hainan, Jiangxi, Fujian and Zhejiang provinces are expected to be hit by rainstorms on Monday and Tuesday, with downpours in some provinces of up to 120 millimeters expected within the next 24 hours, the National Meteorological Center forecast. The center warned local authorities to be on high alert against possible flooding and landslides. The country's southwest Yunnan and Guizhou provinces will experience temperature drops and moderate snowfall during the next three days due to a strong cold front. In Yunnan Province, the snowy weather and icy temperatures have disrupted air traffic, forcing the Kunming airport to temporarily close.
