Tropical Storm Raymond, well of the west coast of Mexico in the Pacific Ocean, may regain hurricane strength this weekend, forecasters said. In its 2 p.m. PDT update, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said Raymond was 510 miles southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph, and was moving west-southwest at 8 mph. No coastal watches or warnings were in effect. The storm was expected to move toward the west-southwest, or to the west, and gain some forward speed during the next two days. Raymond is likely to gain strength during the next 48 hours and could become a hurricane Saturday or Sunday.
