A relatively powerful quake measuring 5.5 in Richer scale jolted the city of Neishabour in the northeast part of Iran this afternoon. According to seismological center of Tehran University the quake occurred at 12:35 GMT in the vicinity of Neishabour. There are no immediate reports on casualties. Rescue teams have rushed to the area. In related news, a relatively strong quake jolted the holy city of Mashhad at 12:37 GMT on Thursday afternoon. Details of the quake will be announced as soon as possible. Iran is located on major seismic fault lines and is prone to frequent earthquakes.
