A sand storm that hit Egypt on Tuesday caused a power cut-off in the area of Daba, in the northwestern coast, said an Electricity Ministry official on Wednesday. He added, in press statements, that the ministry has fielded seven diesel units on Wednesday morning to light the area after light poles were affected by the storm. The back-up measure will be maintained until all maintenance operations are completed and the situation returns back to normal, he added.
