A magnitude 5.7 earthquake 110 kilometres off Australia's Queensland coast Saturday rattled Brisbane for the second time in a week, dpa reported.

Geoscience Australia said the quake was the region's strongest in 100 years, and much stronger than the 5.3 earthquake in the same area on Thursday.

Brisbane residents reported buildings shaking and windows rattling.

There were no immediate reports of damage.
