Snowstorms hit the northeastern region of the United States yesterday disrupting electric power supply and delaying flights all over the region.
The snowstorms effect extended from central Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut, Virginia and Maryland. Weather alerts have been issued in 12 states. The storm resulted in power outage from more than half a million homes in Pennsylvania. Accumulation of snow reached up to 30 cm in some places.
Reportedly, flights in and out of Philadelphia, New York , JFK International airports were delayed for more than four hours. US Meteorological Authorities forecasted snowstorms to cover vast areas in the northeastern parts of the country until Sunday.
