An earthquake measuring 6.2 magnitude on the Richter scale jolted northern Argentina on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 9.50 km, was initially determined to be at 24.1812 degrees south latitude and 64.2501 degrees west longitude, some 139 km from the city of Salta. There have been no reports of casualties or damage so far.
