Thundershowers continued across the UAE on Saturday, a day after heavy rain and hailstorm fell on parts of the emirates

The national weather bureau said the weather will remain unstable, with clouds and more rain expected to fall across the country.

Dark clouds and lightning were also seen in Dubai as the police urged motorists to reduce their driving speed in heavy rain

On Friday night, Dubai residents reported seeing a hailstorm, while rain of varying intensities fell on other parts of the emirate.

On Friday, residents woke up to the sound of thundery rain as different intensities of rain fell over scattered areas of the country.

The early Friday drizzle, the result of the unstable weather pattern over the country, has resulted in a few road accidents. Motorists are urged to be extra careful in wet weather due to slippery roads

Here's how a thundery rain in the UAE looks like

 

At around 2am, heavy rain was reported over Saih Al Salem, Al Faqa, and Al Hiyar. The morning thunderstorms were followed by windy conditions.

Dubai residents were treated to a thunderbolt and lightning show just before 9am on Friday. The rain has significantly reduced visibility

Heavy rain poured over Abu Dhabi and Al Minhad, as well as over Al Ain International and Fujairah International airport

Light rain was also seen over the Abu Dhabi International, Al Bateen Airport, Al Maktoum International and Dubai International airports

 

The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) reported that the weather will remain unstable, with clouds and rain expected to fall across various parts of the country.

Friday will be mostly cloudy, said weathermen. They also see possible showers on Friday afternoon, a 20 per cent chance of rain on Saturday, and a 60 per cent chance of rain on Monday.

Temperatures over the next couple of days are expected cool down in the early mornings, especially in coastal areas
