Tropical Storm Irwin was forecast to get a little stronger as it moved in the Pacific Ocean, the National Hurricane Center in Miami said Monday. Irwin, with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph, was about 790 miles southwest of the southern tip of Baja California, Mexico, and moving east at 6 mph, the center said in its 5 a.m. EDT advisory. No coastal watches or warnings were in effect. Forecasters said Irwin was expected to strengthen through the day. The storm was expected to increase its forward speed during the next couple of days.
