Kathmandu - WAM
UAE youth volunteers participating in the UAE Ambassadors programme have provided humanitarian aid to children affected by the earthquake in Nepal, which claimed the lives of over 8,000 people and injured thousands of others.
The UAE volunteers organised various health and entertainment activities for children as part of the Zayed Giving Initiative for voluntary humanitarian work.
Moza Al Otaiba, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that many Emiratis are proactive in philanthropy, foundations for which were laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and praised the volunteers for being role models through their active participation in volunteer work both locally and internationally.
Al Otaiba added that since its inception, the Zayed Giving Initiative has adopted many voluntary and humanitarian initiatives and continues to empower and encourage the engagement of young people in charitable work all around the world.
