The violent Great Plains winter storm hit Chicago before heading to New England which is still reeling under the impact of snow storm. The blizzard forced the cancellation of around 2,000 U.S. flights scheduled in Chicago two main airports.
Chicago-based National Weather Service expert David Bacheller said the metropolitan city is bracing for a violent snow storm which may reach the speed of twenty-seven kilometers per hour.
A NWS report said that the storm would lash from Midwest into the Northeast, hitting Iowa, northern Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio as well as Pennsylvania, New York, and parts of New England.
