A wildfire on Tuesday closed in on villages in eastern Spain, prompting the evacuation of about 200 residents, dpa reported. The fire damaged about 10 houses in Colomers near Girona, officials said. Residents of three other villages were also advised to leave their homes. No injuries were reported. Firefighters were combating the blaze, which has already destroyed about 1,000 hectares of forest and farmland. The origin of the fire was not immediately clear.
