A 25-year-old woman has died in hospital of injuries suffered in an attack by stray dogs on the outskirts of Simferopol in Ukraine’s Crimea, the local police said on Friday. The woman was attacked in the early morning hours on Thursday after spending time drinking with two men, who later left her at a bus stop alone. People in the nearby village later said they heard a woman crying out and dogs barking in the street at about five a.m., but did not respond, police said. Police have opened an inquiry into the incident, which may see the woman\'s companions charged with \"leaving a person in danger,\" a crime that carries a jail sentence of three to eight years. In a separate incident, an 18-year-old woman, Praskovia Dogayeva, was attacked by stray dogs in Saratov in Russia’s Volga region, but a 31-year-old policeman, Konstantin Agafonov, shot at the attackers and succceeded in chasing them off.
