Fractals, Nada Baraka's first solo exhibition will open on Sunday 18 January at Mashrabia gallery
Baraka’s paintings deal with the perception of the body, especially the female body, in today’s society. She tackles timeless themes of gender and identity with their transient and aesthetic properties.
With her signature vivid colour palette, her abstract pieces are both disconcerting and hypnotic, as the shapes and colours melt and merge to pull you into the realm she creates.
Baraka introduced herself to Egypt’s art scene in 2011, when she first participated in that year’s Youth Salon at the Palace of the Arts.
After graduating from AUC with a bachelor in art in 2012, she has participated in a number of group exhibits locally and internationally, and went on to complete a master’s degree in fine arts at Central Saint Martins University of London.
