Damascus - SANA
The Syrian people are celebrating the 45th anniversary of Tishreen Liberation War while the Army is writing the last chapter in the war against terrorism that the country has been facing for more than seven years.
Two o’clock p.m. on 6th of October, 1973 was the hour of the announcement of restoring the Arab right and dignity starting with a sudden attack launched by the Syrian and Egyptian armed forces on the fronts of Golan from the Syrian side and Sinai from the Egyptian’s side.
Backed by some Arab military units, the Syrian Arab forces were able to destroy the Zionist defense line of Allon and achieve advance in the depth of the occupied Syrian Golan, while the Egyptian forces passed Suez Canal destroying the Zionist defense line of Bar Lev as they were able to restore Peninsula of Sinai.
Tishreen Liberation War, led by the Founding Leader Hafez al-Assad that lasted for 220 days, was a historic milestone when the Syrian Arab Army changed the “Israeli” dreams to dust.
