The Technical College for Girls in Jazan organized on Thursday an exhibition to showcase the cultural heritage of the people of Jazan region. Dubbed "Revival of Jazan's Heritage," the exhibition at the students' activity hall in the college has attracted a large number of students. Displayed in the miscellaneous corners were a variety of traditional handicrafts such as clay pots, fans made of palm-leaves, basketry, pottery and wooden rope seats. In one corner, the traditional marriage customs in the region was being shown, in addition to a fashion show of Jazan's traditional costumes. Organizers said the event was meant to impress upon students the importance of preserving the nation's cultural heritage and encouraging the young generation not to let traditional crafts lapse into oblivion.
