Poets, novelists, writers and academics from the Maghreb will participate in the 24th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (United Arab Emirates) which will start Wednesday, said the event’s organizers. Algerian academic Mustapha Cherif and young poet Louai Khaled will participate in this event include. Tunisia will be represented by Monsef El Mazaghni, Mohamed El Ghazi and Mohamed Ben Hamouda. Djamila Hassoun from Morocco and Abdallah Essaid Ould Abah from Mauritania will also be present in this cultural event. Mustapha Cherif, head of the ”Civilization, Culture and dialogue of religions” department at the University of Algiers is the author of several works relating to dialogue between religions and cultures. In 2013, Mustapha Cherif won the Ducci award for culture and peace by the Italian foundation Ducci. The academic won the Unesco-Sharjah award for Arab culture in 2013 tying with UK Arab British Centre. The young poet, Louai Khaled (16), is the author of many Arabic children stories such as “Fi Baitina Katton”(There Is A Cat In Our House) and “Sadiki El Iraki” (My Iraqi Friend) and others in English. The 24th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair will see the participation of 70 renowned novelists, poets, writers, academics, visual artists and caricaturists, 26 of whom are from Sweden, this edition’s guest of honour. Many European and Asian writers will also participate in this Fair.
