A photo exhibition marking the 64th anniversary of the founding of the People\'s Republic of China opened here Wednesday in Bulgaria\'s National Palace of Culture. The 10-day exhibition entitled \"Beautiful China,\" which is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of China, is also dedicated to the 64th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria. It shows dozens of pictures from contemporary China, such as grassland in Xinjiang; Forbidden City in sunset; fisherman casting net at dusk; a cotton farmer\'s joy; and a foreign teacher in a village school. The exhibition presented the changes and significant achievements made by China after the reform and opening up to the outside world, Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Wei Jinghua said at the opening ceremony, which was also attended by Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Culture Vasil Vasilev. Deiana Danailova, International Relations Director at the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture, told Xinhua she was particularly happy to be there because this photo exhibition really showed the beauties of today\'s China. \"I, with great pleasure, had the opportunity this year to visit China in May, and see for myself these beauties, and not only them,\" she said. Katerina, a schoolgirl studying Chinese for three years, said she liked this exhibition very much. \"All the pictures are great, and I\'d like to go to China one day to visit these places,\" she said. She especially liked the picture with bamboo. \"There is no bamboo in Bulgaria, and I would like to one day see it with my own eyes; to go to a bamboo forest,\" she said.
