Be honest about your material desires. Pretending you don't care about comfort and luxury will be a losing proposition. Although it's admirable you don't want anyone to go to trouble on your behalf, you shouldn't be suffering in silence. When you need an extra pillow, a hot coffee or softer chair, you should ask for it. Nobody will think you are being overly demanding. Entitled people don't ask for extras; they command them. That's why nobody will blink an eye when you politely request a glass of water.
