Pushing a loved one too far will be cause for regret. Although you want a good friend, romantic or business partner to go on a certain direction, you can't actually force them to do anything. By showing respect for their autonomy, you will preserve your relationship. Forcing them to obey your command will result in a permanent rift. Why are you making such a big issue out of such a small thing? Is it because you are afraid of losing control?
